Enemy of man questions

1. How much money were they asking for? $250,000
2. How much did they get? $255,564
3. How many backers were there? 2712
4. Who is the director and why is this important? Vincent Regan. This is important because in the past he used to be an actor, which shows his success from switching his job within the film industry.
5. How else is the project being funded? pre-sales, tax credits and Kickstarter.
6. What was the funding for? Taking the film into pre-production, which will allow them to create concept art, storyboards and scout locations and begin working on the costumes, set and so on. Money raised on Kickstarter will go straight into the production budget.
7. Why do you think this was successful in gaining funding? One of the reasons that they were successful in gaining the funding for the film is because they were offering rewards to those that pledged money. The more money donated, the better the rewards. For example, if you were to have pledged $25 - 34, the rewards were as follows: Film and digital bundle - Receive everything in the film and script reward and an exclusive digital book of artwork and postcards plus the soundtrack. All pledges at a higher level also received this.
8. What has happened since it was funded? Budget has been reduced as it became unfeasible to continue at the same finance level after Michael Fassbender's Macbeth was released.

What is Kickstarter and how can it help in pre production?

They are a global community that help artists, musicians, filmmakers, designers and other creators find the help they need to ensure that their ideas become a reality. There have been tens of thousands of big and small projects that have come to life with Kickstarter. They help people by providing tools to help people bring their creative projects to life, meaning that with this boost of help, those creators will essentially find the pre-production stage a lot less difficult.
